Our school Sunshine room is a calm, welcoming space designed to support the wellbeing of our pupils. It offers a safe space where pupils can take time to regulate feelings, build confidence and develop positive relationships.
Guided by trained staff, our pupils take part in activities that encourages resilience, communication and self-esteem.
The nurture group is a short term, focused intervention for children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties which create a barrier to learning within the mainstream classroom setting. The Nurture Group has a maximum of 10 children who are supported by a teacher and classroom assistant. The relationship between these staff and the children is always nurturing and supportive, providing a role model for the children. Food is shared at 'breakfast' or 'snack time' with much opportunity for social learning. helping children to attend to the needs of others, with time to listen and be listened to.
