Welcome to Primary 2

A very warm welcome to Primary 2! Our teachers are Miss McNutt and Mr Carlisle.

Topic: ‘Emergency Emergency’.
We explore our topics through play-based learning and fun outdoor learning activities.

Within this topic we learned about people who help us! We particularly focused on Firefighters, Police Officers , Doctors and a Lollipop person as these are people who help us in our local community.

Numeracy: We consolidated number recognition and making sets within 10/20. We explored 2D shapes in our environment and developed our adding skills!

Literacy: We enjoyed sharing topic related stories. We have been developing our initial sound recognition and reading skills using the Jolly Phonics programme. Throughout writing activities we have written sentences, lists and posters!

This term our topic is ‘Once Upon A Time’. Watch this space for our exciting magic bean planting, just like Jack and the Beanstalk!
