Literacy

P4 have been working so hard already this year. We have been learning to write recounts. We have learnt about nouns, verbs and adjectives and are trying hard to use these in our writing.

We thought of adjectives to describe our snowmen!

We have been doing lots of reading and can answer comprehension questions about what we have read.

Numeracy

P4 have been so busy in numeracy this term. 

We have been learning about Hundreds, Tens and Units and we can read, write and order these numbers.

We can also complete tally charts and pictograms and answer questions about them.

We can split shapes into halves and quarters and recognise o'clock and half past times on the clock.

World Around Us

During our first topic we loved learning about World War Two. We enjoyed making Anderson Shelters using lego, gas masks and spitfires during ABL. We also made pictures of the Blitz. We thought about how evacuees would have felt and discussed how we would feel.

Our current topic is Let's Celebrate. We have enjoyed finding out about different celebrations around the world. We can't believe how many there are. 

So far we have looked at Mardi Gras, Japanese Children's Day and Diwali. We can't wait to find out even more!
